Yeah, considering that she wore more revealing clothes in the past (JUSTIN BAILEY code in the NES version, running out of energy in the SNES version, Successful speedruns in several versions, all those come to mind,) either they never played the classic installments, paid no attention to the death animation in Super (Granted, it can be a bit 'blink and you'll miss it') or just didn't go for the speedrun route.
I'm so annoyed about people whining about the jet boots/heels are so tacky and she looks stupid. When it comes to Samus, it's being a hunter first, fanservice last/or whenever she feels like it/you deserve it. Besides, she can literally kick ass with these things.
Thank you so much for making this image. It just about perfectly sums up how I feel about the boots.
Seeing that this image has become something of a rallying sign for people that support the boots, I have proposed a challenge on my journal to see if we can create more art that positively depicts Samus' jet boots.
I'm not gonna argue this. You have an opinion, and even though I think it's wrong, I will respect your opinion. I'm just not gonna play as Zero Suit Samus. You can play as her all you want. I just won't. I didn't like her in Brawl, chances are I won't like in the new Smash Bros. There really needs to be more people in the world who can accept one thing that isn't so great. The rest of the game is probably going to be amazing. So just ignore this little bit and quit whining, haters. Look at the good parts, aka everything else.
Which is ironic, as Heels were actually designed to be men's shoes initially. They were meant to represent a mans masculinity and fertility, yet over time started being worn by women and then it just stuck with them.
To me heels on ZSSamus makes her more masculine more than before.
...And that honestly bugs me. One probably wouldn't care if she's in high heels when they're too busy getting them planted in their face. It'd be one thing if the boots impeded her ability to kick things, but as the Smash Direct proved, they actually support it!
i like samus but i don't understand her jet boots that really kind of look like chell's boots mixed with tron. They should have given her the screw attack like when you put the justin bailey cheat code for the original metroid that would have made more sense.
they don't care because they're more "covered up." i think people's reactions are ridiculous. they're too afraid of feminine qualities and sexy qualities. yet for some reason it's totally acceptable in "real people." smh
